Sconset

Siasconset, better known as Sconset, is situated on the eastern coast of the island and is the best spot to catch the first US sunrise. The quiet village will make you feel like you have traveled back in time with most residents preferring to travel around by foot or bike. Beautiful rose covered cottages are quintessential here and are beloved by the residents. Homes range from quaint cottages to large estates depending on the location. Low Beach Road, Ocean Ave and Baxter Road have some of the most coveted Sconset real estate with sweeping Atlantic Ocean views and some private staircases down to the beach.

• Sankaty Golf Club and Nantucket Golf Club, both private, afford members and guests some of the best golf facilities on the east coast.
• Siasconset Golf, better known as Skinners, is a public 9 hole course just down Milestone Road.
• The Sconset Casino offers beautiful tennis courts and a wonderful event facility that also showcases plays and movies throughout the summer.
• The village center features Sconset Market for basic provisions and great ice cream on a hot summer evening. Also here you will find a Post Office (with the exclusive 02564 zip code if you can get a box) as well as Claudettes for breakfast, lunch and take out.
• If you are looking for a fabulous dinner, but you don't want to drive to Town, the Chanticleer is the place for you! Featuring french inspired food and a beautiful cottage/garden setting is a must do in the summer.
• Down in the Codfish Park area is parking for Sconset Beach and a wonderful playground for the kiddos.
• Sankaty Lighthouse sits on a 7 acre site lovingly preserved and maintained by the Sconset Trust. Drive, bike or walk to the site and explore on your own or visit during one of the few Lighthouse Open days to climb to the top.
• In the evenings during summer, catch the Island Kitchen food truck parked across from the Sconset Casino for burgers, lobster rolls and falafals!
