concert on Nantucket each year to raise funds for the benefit of Nantucket Cottage Hospital.
The Start of an Annual Tradition
Longtime hospital supporter Kathryn Clauss first invited the Boston Pops to perform a concert on the island as a fundraising event in 1997. The concert was a success right out of the gate and became an annual event that is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The Boston Pops concert in Nantucket is the biggest fundraiser for
Nantucket Cottage Hospital, attracting thousands of people to Jetties Beach for a special evening that happens nowhere else but on Nantucket.
Turning Concert Tickets into Key Improvements
Over the years, ticket sales for the Boston Pops concert have made it possible for Nantucket Cottage Hospital to make important improvements. These have included employee housing, a renovation and expansion of the hospital’s emergency department, rehabilitation services, a radiology suite, and cardiac monitoring equipment. The fundraiser has helped the hospital expand its services and provide high-quality medical care for all Nantucket residents and visitors.
A Special Anniversary Celebration
The Boston Pops concert on Nantucket takes place on August 13 this year.
General admission tickets are available for $30 for adults and $10 for children 6 and older. Children under 5 are free. All proceeds from ticket sales benefit the hospital. This year’s anniversary celebration features Grammy award winner Kenny Loggins as the special guest star! The concert will also include a fireworks display to end the night on an exciting note.
