Wauwinet

Wauwinet is a tranquil area adjacent to Polpis, Pocomo, Quidnet, Squam and the Great Point areas. As far northeast as you can drive, you will find this quiet little village stretching the length of Wauwinet Road all the way to where dirt road meets the sand entrance to Great Point. Homes range from summer beach cottages to large homes and estates. Residents here value privacy and seclusion above all else. Homes may have Harbor views, Ocean views and some of the lucky ones past the Wauwinet Hotel will have both! It's a true, get-away-from-it-all type of place that holds a special spot in the hearts of owners and visitors alike.

• Pocomo Point is just a few minutes down the road for a more active day at the beach to take part in or enjoy the spectacle of water sports.
• The Beach, either Harborside or Oceanside, is really the draw to this location. Most homes are within walking distance or have their own access. Relaxing for quiet afternoons by the water is really what this area is all about.
• Put your vehicle in 4 wheel drive, let the air in your tires down to 15 PSI, grab a sticker or day pass from the Trustee's Gate Shack and head out on a beach adventure toward Great Point Lighthouse. The beach here is beautiful with great fishing and spots to relax with friends and family. Swimming is cooler than the harbor, but refreshing from the July and August heat. Make sure to leave only footprints as this is a nature preserve as much as a beach for our pleasure.
