Shawkemo

Shawkemo is nestled between Shimmo and Quaise, just off the northern side of Polpis Road and features some truly amazing homes and estates. The elevation here is slightly higher than the rest of Nantucket's coastline affording most lots sweeping views over the Harbor and Coatue.

• Egan Maritime's Shipwreck and Lifesaving Museum sits just half a mile from the end of Shawkemo Road and is a great spot to learn about Nantucket's maritime history. Fun activities for kids happen here throughout the summer, usually in the morning, and their exhibits change annually for a new adventure each time you visit.
• UMass field station is just a quick bike or car ride away past the Shipwreck and Lifesaving Museum for another place to bird watch, walk or run
