Nantucket’s historic Broad Street has been recently graced with the addition of the very special Greydon House, an inn and restaurant serving local fare with flair. Open since just June 2016, Greydon House has already become a top destination for residents and visitors alike.
Executive Chef Marcus Gleadow-Ware originally hails from London and has been passionate about food since the age of 16. His creative vision in the kitchen is realized at Greydon House with dishes such as Spanish octopus with Iberico ham, Vadouvan hummus, and shaved farm vegetables.
Guests can also enjoy locally-sourced seafood dishes like grilled Maine prawns with coconut broth, lemongrass, Asian pear, and cilantro, as well as fresh bluefin tuna with avocado pineapple and purple shiso.
All this is presented in an atmosphere that evokes the time-honored traditions of history's seafaring merchant captains. As featured in the September issue of Architectural Digest, Greydon House proudly displays portraits of schooners from long ago, shelves of antique books, and authentic candelabras hanging from the low, wood-beamed ceilings. An expansive front porch allows guests to take in a breath of fresh air while gazing at the vistas beyond. Weary travelers and satiated diners can head upstairs to the comfortable and cozy inn accommodations that feature wrought-iron beds and pendant lights.
