Nantucket Summer Festivals

Nantucket Comedy Festival, July 13–16

The Nantucket Comedy Festival has been part of summers on the island since 2007. Top comedic talent comes to the island to benefit Stand Up & Learn, a comedy-based education program that benefits Nantucket's children year-round. This fun event takes place at a variety of locations, including Nantucket Dreamland Theater and the Nantucket VFW. One new entry this year is Ladies Who Lunch and Laugh on Thursday, July 14 at the Westmoor Club. Check the festival schedule for more information.

Nantucket Garden Club's Art with Blooms Gallery Walk, July 15–17

Walk through some of Nantucket's unique art galleries that will highlight floral creations inspired by works of art. The Nantucket Garden Club sponsors the Art with Blooms Gallery Walk starting on Friday, July 15, at 6 PM and continuing through Sunday, July 17, at 4 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to casually visit a number of Nantucket's galleries in and near Town.

Nantucket Atheneum Dance Festival, July 18–23

The Atheneum is Nantucket's one-of-a-kind library and a centerpiece of island cultural life. Each year the Nantucket Atheneum hosts a week-long festival dedicated to ballet for all ages. The Nantucket Atheneum Dance Festival ends with a variety of performances that take place at the Mary P. Walker Auditorium at Nantucket High School. Previous festivals have featured performers from the American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Paris Opera Ballet. Festival tickets go on sale July 1.

Nantucket by Design, August 2–7

This year's Nantucket Historical Association Antiques and Design Show has a new name but it still benefits the same great cause. Nantucket by Design is the major summer fundraising event for the historical association. The week's activities include luncheons with noted speakers, an exclusive cocktail reception at a private residence, classes, design panels, a dessert and dancing evening, and much more. Tickets are available for packages and individual events.
